T’s &C’s
At Stafford Clay Studio we’re committed to transparency, fairness and fun! Our Terms and Conditions provide a framework for our relationship, outlining the do’s, dont’s, and everything in between.
We will supply aprons, however if you would like to bring your own you are more than welcome. Clay can be messy, so we would recommend that you don’t wear your favourite outfit, but don’t worry- it easily washes out.
All watches, rings and bracelets will need to be removed when throwing on the pottery wheel. If you have long hair, you will also need to tie it back.
Stafford Clay Studio will not be held responsible for loss or damage to clothing, shoes, jewellery, watches and mobile devices whilst in the studio.
All classes will start on time. If you arrive late, this time will not be added to the end of the session.
If you miss any sessions in your chosen 4/6/8-week course, unfortunately this cannot be taken at a later date and no reimbursements will be offered. You cannot replace any of your sessions with another person.
All classes are to be paid for in full, prior to the classes starting.
Please be aware you are working in a studio that others have access to, so peoples work will be on the shelving, drying out etc, please be respectful and do not touch others work.
We are not liable for any loss or damage to your clay creations. We encourage you to label and keep track on your work to minimize any potential issues.
While we take every precaution to ensure the safety and security of your belongings, unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
Inductions will be given on all equipment that you will using. Stafford Clay Studio will not be held responsible for any injury you may incur.
Stafford Clay Studio has the right to exclude any participant from the studio if they fail to be respectful to the staff and other students. Or shows disregard for equipment and safety of others.
We will always attempt to have work bisqued and glaze fired with 8 weeks of the end of your class date. We will contact you to tell you the pieces are ready for collection and arrange an agreed date and time that is convenient to both for collection. We will hold work for a maximum of 12 weeks, any work that is not collected after this time will unfortunately be discarded due to our studio space.
Clay is always on the move, it shrinks on every step of its drying and firing cycle, regrettably on some occasions the clay can produce cracks and even explode on rare occasions in the firing cycle. This is out of our control, we cannot be held responsible for cracks, exploded ware or ware that is damaged due to other ware exploding. This is part of the many difficulties working with clay.
To cancel or reschedule please give us at least 14 days’ notice before the event, this will then give both parties a chance to reschedule on the nearest convenient session. If less than 14 days’ notice is given prior to the session, then please understand, as we are a small independent ceramic studio and we are unable to issue a refund.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and rescheduling is needed, however we can only accommodate one rescheduling per booking.
