2 Hour Throwing Taster

£55.00

A great introduction to clay, creating your very own hand-thrown piece. You will be shown how to prepare the clay and learn the basic essential steps when using the potters’ wheel. Libby or Pip will demonstrate how to throw a pot and then guide you through each step, as you learn to throw your very own vessels. You will throw four pots over the two hour session. At the end of the session, you will be able to choose your favorite pot and your coloured glaze, which we will then trim, fire and glaze for you. When your pots are ready, we will text you and arrange a convenient collection time.

Our cosy studio has four wheels, meaning you will be guaranteed your own wheel for the whole session. If you are a larger group then send us an email as we can extend the session time, so everyone has the same time and experience on the wheel. We can also create unique groups sessions for up to 12 people.

For an additional charge of £10 per pot, you can choose more of your creations to have fired and glazed in our in-house glazes. 

Tasters are available to book Saturday’s and Sunday’s 2.30pm - 4.30pm or 5pm -7pm.

Fancy a brew? We’ve got you covered with great tea and coffee facilities - and of course biscuits! There is also a delightful selection of handmade mugs to choose from (although picking the perfect mug might take longer than it takes for the kettle to boil).

Our courses are kept small, so you get the full benefit of our expert advice while in a cosy, friendly setting, with only a maximum of 4 students per course. All courses are designed for beginners, returners and people wanting to refresh their skills. Please note that as a small independent studio, we have limited space and can only store fired pieces for up to 12 weeks.

Refund policy

To cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 14 days’ notice before the event. This will then give both parties a chance to reschedule on the nearest convenient session. If less than 14 days’ notice is given prior to the session, then please understand, as we are a small independent ceramic studio we will be unable to issue a refund.
