Summer Workshops

Slab mug Workshop

Monday 24th August 6pm-8pm

Three ceramic mugs in different colors and textures, including blue, brown, and beige, arranged in a row on a light-colored surface.

Come and unwind on our two hour mug slab building workshop. This offers participants the opportunity to create their own unique mugs through hands-on instruction and demonstration. During this session, Pip will provide a step-by-step demonstration of slab-building technique, which involves rolling out clay into flat slabs that can be shaped and assembled over a form.

Participants then have the freedom to personalise their mugs, experimenting with textures, patterns, and decorations. Bringing creativity as each individual brings their own vision to life.

All mugs will be bisque fired then glazed in your chosen glaze, making it dishwasher proof. The workshop is for all skill levels, making it an engaging experience for both beginners and more seasoned potters looking to refine their techniques. Unleash your creativity and craftsmanship in a supportive environment. You will leave with a beautifully crafted, functional piece that can be used in your home.

Wall Planter Workshop

Monday 24th August 6pm-8.30pm

Spider plant in a red hanging pot against a white wall.

Come and join us for a two hour Slab Building Workshop, where Pip will lead you in creating a one-of-a-kind wall planter. This engaging session will start with a demonstration of the slab building technique and participants will learn how to roll, cut, and assemble their own unique wall planters, offering an opportunity to infuse personal style with textures and decorative elements.

They will provide clear, step-by-step guidance, making this workshop accessible to both beginners and experienced potters. The sessions are designed to encourage creativity in a friendly atmosphere. All pieces made during the workshop will be bisque fired and glazed in your chosen glaze, picked on the day, resulting in functional wall planters that can enhance your living space.

This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore their artistic side, regardless of prior experience. Come and discover the joy of working with clay while crafting something special for your home.

Fancy a brew? We’ve got you covered with great tea and coffee facilities - and of course biscuits! There is also a delightful selection of handmade mugs to choose from (although picking the perfect mug might take longer than it takes for the kettle to boil).

We use stoneware clay and custom in-house glazes, to make each piece food and dishwasher safe. We first fire to 1000 degrees, after which a glaze of your choosing will be applied and fired to 1230 degrees.

Our courses are kept small, so you get the full benefit of our expert advice while in a cosy, friendly setting, with only a maximum of 6 students per course. All courses are designed for beginners, returners and people wanting to refresh their skills. Please note that as a small independent studio, we have limited space and can only store fired pieces for up to 12 weeks.
